PROMOTION OF EDUCATION AND RELATED ACTIVITIES.

SMART CLASSROOM DEVELOPMENT

GACL Foundation Trust is focusing on the promotion of education. GACL Foundation Trust is constantly contributing and supporting for enhancement of the quality of education. In the scenario of competitiveness environment and technology, the quality of education is necessity. The smart classroom is a modernized method of education in Indian education, which improves the quality of education. To provide a better quality of education, GACL Foundation Trust developed 69 Smart Classrooms in Government Primary Schools of Bharuch District. MID-DAY MEAL PROGRAM

Nutrition is basic human need and a prerequisite to a healthy life. A proper diet is essential from the very early stage of life for proper growth, and development and to remain active. Children of Government Primary Schools are receiving free of cost Mid Day Meal under MDM Scheme. GACL Foundation Trust supported Mid Day Meal program through the Akshaya Patra Foundation in 25 Government Primary Schools nearby GACL’s Ranoli Plant. Along with providing hot cooked meals to school children the Akshaya Patra Foundation conducted Nutrition Awareness Sessions for students and teachers on various aspects of healthcare, hygiene, sanitation and nutrition. SMART ANGANWADI DEVELOPMENT

Anganwadi centres provide a host of learning activities designed to prepare children for school. The focus lies in fostering learning through play, thereby enhancing the social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and aesthetic development of children. In the digital period, children easily adopt digital learning thus GACL Foundation Trust takes the initiative to develop a Smart Anganwadi. GACL Foundation Trust developed Smart Anganwadi at Kesrol Village of Bharuch District. Moreover, GACL Foundation Trust has refurbished 03 Anganwadis in Bharuch & Vadodara District. DEVELOPMENT OF CERAMIC EMBOSSED LEARNING TILES

Education helps a person to get knowledge and improve confidence in life. Education is the process of achieving knowledge, values, skills, beliefs, and moral habits. The Government of India has also made the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act or Right to Education Act (RTE). The act makes education a fundamental right of every child between the ages of 6 to 14 years. GACL Foundation Trust also puts its efforts into the betterment of education and improving the quality of education in Government Primary Schools by providing necessary infrastructure development and also by quality of education initiatives. GACL Foundation Trust developed ceramic embossed learning tiles in 25 Government Primary schools of Bharuch District. Sustainable Development Goals: 04 Quality Education.

QUIZ COMPETITIONS

Quiz competitions are an effective tool for enhancing students’ critical thinking skills. By participating in a quiz competition, students can develop their analytical, creative, problem-solving, communication, and confidence-building skills. Quiz competitions help students to develop their confidence. By participating in a quiz competition, students can learn to trust their own abilities and develop the confidence to tackle challenges in life. GACL Foundation Trust through Bal Bhavan Society, Vadodara conducted five Inter-School Quiz Competitions and one Sports Meet for Intellectually Disabled Children as below:

SCIENCE EDUCATION AND AWARENESS

Science education gives students the opportunity to gain a better knowledge of how and why things function. Science can teach children about the world that surrounds them. Everything from human anatomy to techniques of transportation, science can reveal the mechanisms and the reasons for complicated systems. In the communities, there are many myths related to science formulas and processes thus GACL Foundation Trust takes the initiative to aware Children and understand the formulas and myths behind science. GACL Foundation Trust has implemented science awareness sessions in 47 Government primary schools in Vadodara and Bharuch District. AGARIYA WELFARE PROGRAM

As we know that, salt-making is an ancient livelihood activity in Gujarat. The salt workers come from different districts to earn money through labour work in various salt pan areas of Gujarat. They migrate to salt pan areas with their family and children. As a result their children have to suffer lack of education. Observing this fact GACL Foundation Trust took an initiative for the welfare activities of salt workers and their children. GFT in partnership with Gram Vikas Trust, Bharuch initiated “Vidhya Sathi” education project. Under this project education classes are conducted at three salt pan areas of Dahej, Gandhar and Paniyadara of Vagra Taluka of Bharuch District catering to 70 children. Moreover, GFT have provided free medical services by conducting medical health camps at Dahej, Gandhar and Paniyadara salt pan areas in partnership with Shrimati Jayaben Mody Hospital, Ankleshwar. CAREER GUIDANCE AND COUNSELING WORKSHOPS

Generally career guidance often comes from our parents, friends and teachers. While they might offer sound advice, it is usually a reflection of their own interests, experiences and preferences. It may not always align with our personal goals, ambitions and personalities. We observed that many students in Government High Schools were unaware of the career opportunities after they pass out the 10^th and 12th classes and were struggling to choose a career path. We have noticed the huge need in terms of career guidance for these children. Therefore, GACL Foundation Trust organized career guidance workshops in 8 Government High Schools of Vagra Taluka of Bharuch District. SANITATION BLOCK

Toilets are an essential facility for maintaining good sanitation and hygiene for humans. The lack of good sanitation facility can cause various types of sickness and diseases, especially diarrhoea among children. GACL Foundation Trust has taken an initiative to create sanitation facilities in Government Primary Schools wherever there is lack of appropriate sanitation facility. GACL Foundation Trust has developed sanitation facility at Pipaliya, Padariya and Narnavi Government Primary schools of Vagra Taluka of Bharuch District. SAINIK SCHOOL, SILVASSA

Vidhya Bharti Gujarat Pradesh a renowned and reputed organization which is helping in Nation Building through providing quality and empowered education to the children especially to the vulnerable and marginalized communities in the society. VIDYA BHARATI GUJARAT PRADESH is registered at Darpan portal/NITI Aayog. It is affiliated with Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Santhan, since 1952. Vidhya Bharti Gujarat Pradesh expressed deep gratitude to GACL Foundation Trust for supporting in construction of new Sainik School at Silvassa in the name of “NETAJI SUBHASH CHANDRA BOSE MILITARY ACADEMY”. The construction of the building was completed only because of the kind support of well-wishers like GACL Foundation Trust. The Sainik School will definitely bring changes in the lives of the most vulnerable and tribal community children. This Sainik School will groom almost 700 boys and girls to become responsible citizens with all the qualities of dedicated and disciplined defense personnel and will instill in them qualities of a true Bhartiya. With immense pleasure we would like to inform you that the Sainik School at Silvassa had begun its first academic session from June , 2023. The students from all over India got admission through All India Sainik Schools Entrance Exam conducted by Ministry of Defense, Government of India. SELF DEFENCE TRANNING PROJECT 

In today’s 21st century Self- Protection for the girl child is very important. In the current scenario, school-going girls are the worst victims and have every chance to be affected. It is highly necessary to have the awareness of the Good touch and Bad touch among the girls and boys to create early understanding and make themselves safe from the critical situation and to prevent them from sexual abuse. To address the lack of awareness amongst young girls and boys as well as to equip the girls with life skills and defense to cope up with unwanted situation, GACL Foundation Trust supported self-defense training sessions for students of 40 Government Primary Schools in the Petrochemical area of Vadodara District. SPORTS INITIATIVES

Sports are an integral part of human life and there is great importance of sports in all spheres of life. Furthermore, Sports help to build the character and personality of a person as well as it is an excellent tool to keep the body physically fit. Sports have a massive positive effect on both the mind and body. GACL Foundation Trust strives to support students, youth as well as community with various sports initiatives. Sustainable Development Goals covered: 03 Good Health and Well-Being, 05 Gender Equality, 10 Reduce Inequalities.  GACL Foundation Trust supported for following sports initiatives:-

• Sports Day Celebration: GACL Foundation Trust celebrated Sports Day at Ranoli Government Primary School and Rahiyad Government Primary School wherein 531 students have participated in both the events.
• Support for Cricket Tournament: GACL Foundation Trust promoted Sports among youth of Rahiyad village to spread awareness on physical fitness & well-being. GFT provided financial assistance to conduct Rahiyad Premier League Cricket Tournament at Rahiyad village, Vagra Taluka, Bharuch District. In the Cricket Tournament around 16 teams participated from Rahiyad village. It also fostered unity & solidarity among village youth.
• The Table Tennis Association of Baroda (TTAB): The Table Tennis Association of Baroda hosted “National Ranking Table Tennis Championships” under the aegis of the Gujarat State Table Tennis Association from 15^thto 21^st January, 2023 at Vadodara. In this event around 700 National-level players including men and women, young boys and girls participated from all the States, Union Territories of India. Shri Swaroop P. IAS, Managing Director, GACL graced the event.
• Bal Bhavan Society: GACL Foundation Trust provided support to Bal Bhavan Society for organizing “Open Vadodara Sports Meet for Intellectual Disabled Children” of Vadodara, in December 2022 as part of the World Disability Day celebration. More than 200 Intellectually Disabled Children participated in this event.

Glimpses Of Activities Carried Out From April, 2023 To March, 2024.

• Financial assistance to Akshaya Patra Foundation towards supporting Mid-Day Meal (MDM) Program in 25 Government Primary Schools. Akshaya Patra team
• members conducted nutrition awareness sessions for children and teachers in each school. GACL employees also took sessions in schools on nutrition under employee engagement program.
• Science awareness program conducted through Community Science Centre, Vadodara in 46 Government Primary Schools of Bharuch and Vadodara District. Students received practical knowledge through on-site science experiments.
• Ceramic Embossed Education Learning Charts Installed in 25 Govt. Primary Schools of Dahej Area.
• Conducted 5 Inter School Quiz and 1 Sports Meet at Bal Bhavan Society, Vadodara.
• Vidhya Sarthi Education Project implemented for 67 Children of Agariyas at 3 Locations of Dahej Salt Area.
• Provided Financial assistance to P J Cheda High School , Dahej for construction of one classroom in school building. The classroom will be named as “GACL Foundation Trust Sponsored Classroom”.
• Career Guidance and Counselling Workshops conducted in 08 Government Secondary and Higher Secondary Schools of Vagra Taluka of Bharuch District.
• Created drinking water facility at Paniyadara Govt. Primary School, ITI Atali and Trankal High School of Dahej area.
• Financial Assistance towards improving the quality of services in 05 Early Childhood Education Centres of Vadodara City.
• Construction of Mid Day Meal (MDM) shed facility in Keshrol Primary School, Ta. Vagra, Dist. Bharuch and Karachiya Primary School, Dist. Vadodara. This facility will be used not only for MDM but also for other activities such as parents meetings, morning assembly, cultural programs, etc.
• Successfully Developed Smart Anganwadi at Keshrol Village, Ta.Vagra, Dist. Bharuch and Refurbishment of Mota Mahadev Anganwadi near Ranoli Plant, Dist. Vadodara.
• Created Sanitation Facility at Pipaliya Primary School, Padariya Primary School and Narnavi Primary School, Ta. Vagra, Dist Bharuch.
• Financial Assistance for construction of Girls Hostel at Sainik School , Silvassa.
• In-Principle approval to contribute Rs.5 Crores to establish centralised Mid Day Meal Kitchen at Bharuch through the Akshaya Patra Foundation.
