Her name is Vaishali Rameshbai Gohil and she is in the 8th standard at Sherkhi Moto Bhag Primary School in Vadodara. She has 4 family members in her family. Her father works as a farm laborer, while her mother does household duties. Her father is only earning income for a family. Her ambition is to become an engineer and make contributions to her family’s income. Because of the healthy meals from Akshaya Patra, she can come to school regularly since last 7 years. She had felt positive difference in her weight growth. The positive thing is, now her parents never have to worry about her daily meal during school hours. Her parents and she are thankful to the Akshaya Patra Foundation and the GACL Foundation Trust for giving them a nutritious meal.
Devrajsinh Gohil is from Anghad village studying in 5th standard at Anghad Primary School, Vadodara.His father is a worker at nearby factory and his mother is a homemaker. His father earns around Rs.10,000 per month. Devrajsinh wishes to become a Doctor and wants to help the people in need. He also stated that his father is pleased with his decision. Regardless of their economic hardships, his father provides him support. He is putting his heart and soul to do well in school and to achieve his dreams. The healthy & tasty Mid Day Meals are extremely beneficial to him to keep his body and soul healthy and active. His favourite dishes are ‘Vegetable Pulao and ‘Dal Dhokli’. He and his family extremely appreciate the Government, Akshaya Patra Foundation and GACL Foundation Trust for providing nutritious food
Ms. Hetal J Kapadiya is a teacher at Vadodara’s Sherkhi Moto Bhag Primary School. She teaches Mathematics to children in 6th to 8th Standards. She stated that she has a positive experience with Akshaya Patra. Akshaya Patra provides healthy and high-quality food to children as a part of Mid-Day Meal Program as well as the GACL Foundation Trust to support us under this program. She is happy to share that Akshaya Patra provides unlimited meals, which helped to improve student attendance and reduce dropout rates, and allow children to concentrate on classroom activities. They are also conducting nutrition awareness sessions for the teachers and children along with GFT team members.They extremely appreciate to the Akshaya Patra Foundation and the GACL Foundation Trust for providing such nutritious food.
Vasava Sanjana M. is student of 10th standard in Kaladara School. She lives with her family in Bhensali village, Vagra Taluka. She attended the career counselling workshops in her school. She shared that the sessions were very useful and interactive as well as counselling helped her to understand and set her career goals. She has decided to become a Police Officer based on her interest and capabilities.
Malnourishment among Pregnant and Lactating mothers is a concern in Dahod District. Therefore, GACL Foundation Trust has taken the initiative of Nutrition Vegetable Garden Project (Mandva Wadi) with Gramin Vikas Trust (GVT) Dahod. Ritaben Sanjaybhai was one of the beneficiaries of this Project. Her Haemoglobin was 8.5% and her Weight was 36 kg at the beginning of Project. She was Trained and motivated to Develop Mandva Wadi. Moreover, Necessary material support was also provided to her to grow vegetables. She worked very enthusiastically and cultivated vegetables in her field. She started consuming green vegetables in her daily diet. After few months latter her haemoglobin was 9% and her Weight was 45 kg because of eating green and fresh vegetables. She also earned around Rs.55,910/- during the year by selling access vegetables grown in her field. She happily shared her experience with other community members and was grateful to the GACL Foundation Trust and Gramin Vikas Trust for their wonderful initiative.

She worked very enthusiastically and cultivated vegetables in her field. She started consuming green vegetables in her daily diet. She also sold some access vegetables. After few months latter her hemoglobin was 11% and her weight was 47 kg because of eating green vegetables. She also earned around Rs.35,520/- rupees during the year by selling access vegetables grown in her field. She happily shared her experience with the community and was grateful to the GACL Foundation Trust and Gramin Vikas Trust for their wonderful initiative.
In the heart of Madhuram Salt Dahej, amidst the shimmering salt pans, lives a little boy named Milan Bhupatbhai Shiyad. Milan’s parents are working tirelessly in the salt pans. GVT with support of GFT has started education initiative at Dahej salt pan area. It was observed that Milan often arrived at school unkempt, his clothes soiled and his body unwashed. At education centre Milan’s participation was quite low, the teacher counselled him continuously and engaged him with other curricular activities. Day by Day, his attendance increased and his performance was going good. Milan is now good in academic and learnt good habits and personal hygiene. Today, Milan stands as a testament to the transformative power of education and compassion.
Jyotshnaben Gohil is a homemaker living in Dhanora Rampura village of Vadodara Taluka. She is 43 years old. There are 6 members in her family. She studied till 10th standard. Her family is engaged in Animal Husbandry and Agriculture activity as a main source of livelihood. Jyotshnaben is mainly looking after Animal Husbandry activities. She takes care of her 4 cattle.
Shree Manav Utthan Trust with the support of the GACL Foundation Trust organized a Training program and exposure visit for the farmers of Dhanora Rampura Village who were engaged in Animal Husbandry activities. Exposure visits were organized at BAIF Research Center, Chasvad, Netrang. During the exposure visits and training programs farmers were made aware of various aspects of Animal Husbandry & Agriculture by the expert scientists. Demonstrations on scientific Agriculture and Animal Husbandry techniques were shown to the farmers. Jyotshnaben was also part of exposure visits and training programs. During exposure visits and trainings she observed various demo plots and learned about various topics such as fodder development for the cattle, maintaining shed of cattle, artificial insemination, care for animals, grooming and maintaining the health of cattle:
Jyotshnaben started implementing learning from the training programs and exposure visits with great enthusiasm. She renovated shed for cattle in her field according to the suggestions of an expert. Moreover, she took advice of veterinary doctors to take care of her cattle. Now, she ensures proper care of the health of her cattle. She feeds cattle and adds supplements in feeding as per the nutrition requirements according to recommendations of expert.
